Dell has chosen SiSM671/968/307DV
chipset for it's Thin-Client PC
Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) Corp's SiSM671/968/307DV
chipset supporting the latest Intel Atom230 and series CPU
is selected by Dell to develop the Thin-Client PC OptiPlex
FX160 project. This low power consuming no-fan thin client
PC from Dell is designed for business users to free them
from fan noise and to save power.
The DELL OptiPlex FX160 is sleek and takes less space on
a work desk. The space-saving design is only one eighth
of the regular ATX chassis with SiSM671-based chipset of
Mini-iTX motherboard inside. The DELL OptiPlex FX160 integrates
all the modern PC functions. These kind of thin clients
may drive a new trend in PC desktop market in business environment.
The DELL OptiPlex FX160 Thin-Client PC supports DDR2-667
memory with memory size of up to 4GB. The SiS Mirage3 Graphics
is integrated in the SiSM671 to deliver high display quality
of 2D and 3D images. The SiS968 Southbridge and SiS307DV
Video Bridge are paired with the SiSM671 Northbridge Chipset
to provide best performance of DELL OptiPlex FX160 Thin-client
PC. This PC supports PCI Express x1 interface, also provides
2 Serial ATA2 high-speed ports for HDD and SSD devices to
accelerate the data transmission speed up to 3Gb/s, by equipping
six USB2.0 ports.
According to SiS, to fulfill the market and customers'
demand, SiSM671/968/307DV will continue to support at least
by the end of year 2011.
