MPS files a lawsuit against Intersil

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) said it has filed a lawsuit with the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware against Intersil Corporation (Intersil) asserting that Intersil has unlawfully misappropriated its confidential information and then used that information to fabricate a web of falsehoods about the circuit design and operation of MPS products.

Monolithic Power Systems complained saying "Intersil improperly conveyed those falsehoods—as well as MPS’s misappropriated confidential information—to MPS customers and potential customers in an effort to induce them to use Intersil products instead of MPS products."

On the otherside Intersil said it intent to defend itself vigorously against the lawsuit and it strongly opposes MPS's legal claims, and looks forward to presenting its defenses to the District Court.

Japanese semiconductor company Renesas has recently agreed to acquire intersil for its analog and power supply IC capabilities.
