IPS1025HF takes less than 60 µs to respond to the control signal either to switch on/off enabling protective systems to ensure a specified safety-integrity level (SIL). This power switch is ideal for for use in safety systems that require minimal power-on delay time.
The IPS1025HF can accept a wide input voltage range of 8.65V to 60V and can withstand 65V on the input pin. This industrial grade device is suggested for power control for programmable logic controllers (PLCs), vending machines, factory-automation I/O peripherals, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines.
The smart IPS1025HF offers two programmable current-limit settings allowing to let higher than the rated current during the instance of switch activation making it a choice for driving loads such as bulb lamps, motors, and capacitive loads that demand high initial peak current.
The N-channel Power MOSFET inside the switch features Rds(on) of 12.5mOhm at ambient temperature, making it a more power efficient and low heat dissipation. With 2.4 A operating output current and has single-pulse avalanche energy up to 14J, makes this MOSFET reliable for handling inductive loads. The onchip active clamp supports fast demagnetization.
This switch comes with protection features such as undervoltage, overvoltage, overload, short circuit, ground disconnection, and Vcc disconnection. On-chip diagnostics such has individual signaling of output overload and junction overtemperature are provided along with a extra thermal sensor to detect excessive case temperature. IPS1025HF meets IEC 61000-4-2 ESD, IEC 61000-4-4, and IEC 61000-4-5 specifications for ESD, fast-transient, and surge immunity.
The evaluation support includes a X-NUCLEO-OUT15A1 expansion board containing an IPS1025HF with associated circuitry ready to connect to STM32 Nucleo development boards, demonstration firmware pack, STSW-OUT15F4, and industrial-automation system design GUI, STSW-IFAPGUI, are available.
