ARM Cortex M0 MCU with built-in audio codec supports voice record and output

Date: 21/05/2013
Sonix unveils new series of ARM Cortex-M0 based 32 bit microcontroller chips called SN32F100 integrated with audio codec and high sensitive capacitive touch key. SN32F100 are said to offer higher anti- interference and ESD. The built-in audio codec helps designers to realize audio function easily such as voice or any such audio recording and playback.

SN32F100 series operates at speeds of 50MHz (45 MIPS) and built up with Codec to support audio output and record function. Based on the Sonix’s voice compression technologies, the SN32F100 series quality voice processing, for example, the SNR(signal noise ratio) reached 90dB and voice data sampling rate is 16- bit 48KHz. The series also provide hardware AGC (Auto Gain Control) function, Microphone Bias Voltage, headset driver and Signal Gain Controller.

The major features of SN32F100 series also include:operating voltage range of 1.8V~3.6V and an industrial temperature range of -40?~85?, built-in flash memory of 64 KB, and an endurance of ROM for 20,000 times. The devices equipped high sensitive 24 channel capacitive touch key and a high precision 12MHz IHRC. All series of products are packaged with LQFP 80, LQFN 64 or LQFP 48 and contain up to 62 GPIO.
Additionally, the series integrate high speed communication interfaces including SPI, I2C, I2S, UART…, etc., which offer wide range of applications for customers.

The series of SN32F100 provide embedded ICE and developing tools for customers. By using the ISP (In-System Programming) integrated functions, users can upgrade and implement software on-line to shorten time-to -market and enhance efficiency and flexibility of product development. With audio codec and touch key functions, the series of SN32F100 are the best choice for high-end toys and remote controls of smart TV applications, claims Sonix.
