Supercomputer with performance density of 1.5 PetaFLOPS/m3

ExaScaler and PEZY, the two Japanese companies have jointly unveiled the first super computer called ZettaScaler -1.8 with a performance density of 1.5 PetaFLOPS/m3 (Rpeak) and it is an advanced prototype of the ZettaScaler-2.0 which is expected to be launched in 2017.

ZettaScaler-2.0 is expected to be three times higher in its performance density compared to that of ZettaScaler1.8

These super computers are designed to use lesser space which increases its performance density higher than other super computers. The ExaScalers tech cools down the ZettaScaler-1.8 super computer by supplying immersion liquid cooling technology. The processor chips are powered by Vicor 380V to 48V and 48V to 1V DC by DC modules.

PEZY computing has listed four products (two semiconductors and two modules) in its website, they are:

PEZY-1 multi-core processor which has 576 RISC processor element(PE) and 2 ARM cores as heterogeneous architecture.

PEZY computing also listed other processor called PEZY-SC multi-core processor having 1024 cores manufactured by using 28nm process nodes.

PEZY-1 Quad PCIe board, PEZY-SC Quad PCIe board were each PCIe board is made by using 4 units of PEZY-1 processor. The other board PEZY-SC Quad PCB board is made using 2 PEZY-SC multi-core processor.
