Sand 9 gets China-market expert Alan Zhou to its Board of Advisors

Dr. Alan Zhou, mobile communication technology market expert has joined the Sand 9’s advisory board. Sand 9 makes MEMS based timing devices as a better replacement for quartz timing devices.
Earlier as a VP of Qualcomm China, Dr. Zhou and his team is said to behind Qualcomm's super success in China mobile market, where Qualcomm has earned >$3B in revenue and sold >150M units of smart phone semiconductor chips per year to over 50 China based OEMs.
Dr. Zhou had also worked at Lucent and AT&T, where he established the first communications IC design center in China and launched the first GSM handset reference design to a number of Chinese communications and consumer electronics companies. Dr. Zhou is also founded IoT startup called Belleds Technologies which is into design of wireless, internet-connected light and music systems.
“Alan is a significant addition to our board of advisors given his depth of knowledge and relationships in the Chinese mobile market,” said Vince Graziani, CEO, Sand 9. “The China market offers significant growth potential, and Alan’s expertise will play a key role in expanding our customer base as we ramp to production this year.”
