MtronPTI acquires some filter components assets from Trilithic

Date: 04/02/2014
MtronPTI said it has acquired certain assets from Trilithic, Inc. The company based in Indianapolis, developed fixed and tunable frequency bandpass, band-reject, high pass and low pass filter products for cellular, military and other wireless applications.

“A crowded spectrum and our increasing dependence on wireless communication are changing requirements for front end RF filtering,” said Mike Howard, Vice President, filter engineering for MtronPTI. “Trilithic’s lumped element (LC) and tunable filter technologies add to MtronPTI’s already popular offerings in the growing digital radio market. Trilithic’s high frequency tubular filters, with very low loss and high power handling, expand MtronPTI’s frequency range toward 20 GHz.”

Jeffrey Hale, President of Trilithic, Inc. said, “With over 20 years’ experience, Trilithic has established and maintained a reputation of designing and building some of the most complex and accurate filters and RF subsystems in the world. I am very pleased that an industry leader, MtronPTI, will honor that legacy. This transaction will allow both MtronPTI and Trilithic to increase focus on our core strengths more effectively.”

The acquired assets are expected to further strengthen and differentiate MtronPTI’s high reliability/harsh environment RF & microwave filter portfolio, providing more solutions for aerospace, defense and Internet communication technology clients, as stated in the release.
