EMS/ODM market to resume growth in 2014, as per IPC

US based electronics manufacturing association IPC projects that electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and original design manufacturers (ODM) markets worldwide to resume growth in 2014 after a decline of approximately 4.9 percent in 2013.

IPC says although EMS/ODM growth rates have historically outpaced those of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the gap will narrow over the next four years as the growth rate of OEM electronics outsourcing slows. IPC highlight the decreased capital equipment spending by EMS companies in 2013.
