Tablet PC reference design based on Atmel's touch and NVIDIA's processor chips

Atmel Corporation is collaborating with NVIDIA in bringing reference design for touch screen tablet computers. The solutions are based on the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor chip and Atmel's maXTouch mXT1386 semiconductor devices. The design is targeted at touchscreens up to size of 15 inches for smartphones, tablet PCs, mobile Internet devices and other applications.

The joint reference design uses Android operating system as embedded software. The multimedia capable Tegra 2 is targeted at portable computing platforms for phones and tablets. Tegra 2 feature dual-core CPU, hardware accelerated Flash, and console-quality gaming with a GeForce GPU. The Atmel maXTouch touchscreen controller chipset supports up to 16-simultaneous touches with fast response time, rejects unintended touches drawing, supports gesturing.
