Hisense awards Fairchild Semiconductor as core supplier

Hisense has awarded discrete and power semiconductor vendor Fairchild Semiconductor with Core Supplier Award for 2010.

"Hisense-Kelon has been using our Smart Power Module (SPM) and Power Factor Correction (PFC) solutions in their world class range of inverter air conditioners since 2004," said Benjamin Tan, Fairchild's regional vice president, Sales & Marketing, China and SEA. "These solutions enable Hisense-Kelon to design and manufacture air conditioners that increase power efficiency and system reliability as well as improve performance."

Fairchild provides Hisense-Kelon with total solutions for their inverter based air-conditioners. The Motion-SPM product family integrates all the well-proven elements needed in a Mini-DIP package, including HVIC, LVIC, NPT IGBT, FRD and bootstrap diode, reducing the need for up to 22 discrete components.

"Fairchild is widely recognized as a world leader in products that enable energy-efficiency," said Mr. Wu Wentao, vice general manager of Hisense-Kelon Aircon Group & Purchasing Director of Hisense Group. "The company's responsiveness, proven innovative products and dedicated people, provide us with excellent power design and service. This is the reason we have given Fairchild our Core Supplier Award."
