Cisco at top again in the Indian WLAN equipment market

IDC in its recent report has stated that Cisco has hold on to its status as the No.1 vendor in India in the Wireless LAN equipment market in revenues with a 19.6% revenue market share in 2009. Cisco has been holding the No.1 position in India for three consecutive years 2007, 2008 and 2009.

The release states, the Indian Wireless LAN equipment market has evolved rapidly as a way of differentiation and to meet consumers' needs. From the provisioning of public hotspots to enterprise deployment, the interest to deploy WLAN has been on a continuous rise. Cisco not only introduced compelling range of Wireless N products to the Indian market but also established 16 RMA exchange centers over the last 15 months. Cisco has also grown its channel partner base to 2000, a growth of almost 50% Y-O-Y and has rapidly extended its channel partner network to Tier II, III and IV locations covering over 200 big and small cities.
