Fujitsu selling its RF/wireless modules
in North American OEM market
Fujitsu Components is marketing a range of wireless modules
in North America to address core OEM design needs as the
market for wireless mobile devices, portable media devices
and industrial equipment steadily increases. Fujitsu claims
its Multi-Chip Modules are smaller in size and consume less
power than competing products.
Fujitsu's initial product offering includes the following
semi-standard devices:
Bluetooth Class 1 / Class 2 in module form, a module with
integrated antenna, and a full module with integrated antenna
and connector interface
Ethernet 802.11 b/g module, b/g/n module
Ethernet / Bluetooth combination (802.11b/g + Bluetooth)
module
Global Positioning System (GPS) module
Examples of primary applications for these modules include
vehicle tracking and navigation, industrial handheld terminals,
smart phones, personal media devices, digital audio/visual
devices, portable medical devices, e-books and netbooks,
with many more emerging.
Fujitsu is also supporting the OEMs by offering driver
development, software support and porting services.
Fujitsu is currently developing Ethernet a/b/g, and a/b/g/n
modules.
