Ixia and Rohde & Schwarz partners to achieve advancements in LTE network quality assurance

Ixia has announced that it will demonstrate its IxCatapult LTE multi-UE simulator using the R&S CMW500 LTE protocol tester operating as an LTE base station emulator at Mobile World Congress.

Ixia's IxCatapult multi-UE simulator is used by eNode B manufacturers and service providers to assure in-depth quality from their wireless nodes.

The R&S CMW500 LTE protocol tester supports the new developments in the LTE standard and it is a comprehensive testing solution for LTE handset development.

"This joint demonstration is another example of the broad application range of the R&S CMW500 LTE Protocol Tester," said Anton Messmer, director of subdivision mobile radio tester of Rohde & Schwarz. "Its unique flexibility and support of the latest standard developments supported Ixia in validating that its LTE UE simulator fulfills every facet of the LTE specification."

"This is a significant end-to-end demonstration of real world video and high speed data subscribers accessing video and content servers over LTE infrastructure," said Victor Alston, senior vice president of Ixia. "This is not only a showcase of a full seamless LTE call flow but, more significantly, operators will see this as validation of the LTE promise to deliver leading video and media rich applications to users."
