Smatphones adopt Trusted Foundations in big way

Trusted Logic has announces that its Trusted Foundations product has been deployed in millions of smartphones.

Trusted Foundations provides an environment to secure sensitive applications on the handset itself. Though the first deployments were related to enterprise security, the demand is now driven by Digital Rights Management (DRM) to protect premium content, with the requirement to support multiple DRM schemes.

Trusted Foundations provides a secure environment that is open to third-party secure applications, enabling the deployment of such applications on different mobile platforms. The latest deployments demonstrate that the same security environment can be integrated with different operating systems such as Windows Mobile, Android, and Symbian.

Trusted Foundations programmable environment is integrated on major smartcard platforms, it can be used to secure mobile payment applications, as well as NFC communications.

"The adoption of Trusted Foundations by several leading smartphone vendors demonstrates that we have developed the right product to meet customer needs," says Dominique Bolignano, President of Trusted Logic. "We now see solid use cases for on-device security, so we expect to enjoy rapid growth of Trusted Foundations sales in the short term."
