New compact power inductors from TDK Corporation with the footprint of 17.3 x 16.5 mm available in the inductance range of 1.0 µH to 30 µH, and the saturation currents range from 10.3 A DC to 40.4 A DC at 25 °C. The new B82559B*A016 series is a replacement of TDK's older similar inductor part B82559A*A016 series, where the new one takes 12 percent less space on the printed circuit board.
This new inductor series also features low insertion heights of 7.55 mm (1.0 µh) to 11.1 mm (30 µh) vary depending on the type. TDK able to achieve the low profile by using flat rectangular helical winding technology and also reduce IR loss. The DC resistances are between 1 milli ohm to 15.4 milli ohms. Designed to operate in the temperature range of -40 °C to +150 °C. Higher mechanical stability is ensured by providing a soldering pad for that purpose. The suggested applications for this new inductor coil includes point-of-load (POL) DC-DC converters, high-current switchmode power supplies and inverters for solar PV systems in hybrid and electric vehicles. The components are RoHS-compatible and qualified to AEC-Q200.
