Radio SoC from Holtek for Walkie-talkie

Holtek has announced its new bi-directional radio SOC device, the HT98R068 for use in the analog radio walkie-talkie product applications as it offers sound processing MCU features in areas such as FRS, MURS, GMRS etc.

Its sound processing capabilities include pre-emphasis/de-emphasis, companding, programmable scramble setting, DTMF codec, programmable selective codec and CTCSS/DCS codec. Other features include flexible sound processing routings and parallel CTCSS management for a range of different modes and operational possibilities.

The device includes 16k x 16 of Program Memory, 1K Bytes of Data Memory, 34 I/O lines, internal 8-channel 12-bit A/D, 4-channel 8-bit D/A, fast wake-up, high/low dual frequency switchable operating system, SPI serial communication interface and RTC etc.

The HT98R068 meets the requirements of industrial specifications (-40 Deg c to 85 Deg C) and has high noise immunity as well having internal Watchdog Timer, Low Voltage Detector, Low Voltage Reset functions giving it outstanding immunity against malfunction or erroneous operation. The device is available in 48/46-pin LQFP package types.
